It is true that the discord style AAR is not perfect for everyone. I will try to update here more often.

Reviving this as it's been a while and the game has continued to progress.

Nemo dropped the game towards the end of February, transferring command of the Allies to Jansanko. It is now early August and this is the overall score:

This is the overall map. I have crossed the reinforcements line in India and am advancing on Karachi.

In terms of ship losses, I sunk the remaining American aircraft carriers near Pearl Harbor a couple of months back, with total Allied losses so far including 6 CVs, 13 BBs, 11 CAs, and 27 CLs/CLAAs. The Allies have also lost about 80 destoryers and 30 submarines.

Japanese losses are 2 BBs, 6 CAs, and 5 CLs, 28 destroyers (about a third of the Allied number), as well as 4 submarines.

The endgame in India is in sight, with Allied forces now essentially under siege in Delhi and Karachi. I will be launching the initial attacks soon but I am already contemplating next steps.

I could essentially invade the USSR one more time, be the first person to completely takeover both India and Australia, or go for something more brazen like an invasion of the US. The one thing I am pretty sure I won't do is invade NZ, as I much prefer to starve it.

Invading the USA would certainly be a challenge, logistically and otherwise. However, given the way you’re dominating the game, and also given an opponent who seems to be willing to fight on regardless of the situation, you may never get a better opportunity to successfully invade the mainland USA than this.

I don’t normally follow AARs on discord much, so please don’t feel obliged to invade the West Coast just for the purposes of keeping me entertained.

JanSako is a solid player. I really do think we will go to the end with this one.

First assault against Karachi finds the city with forts level 7. Engineers did knock down forts to 6, but it's going to be a slog getting through this one.

Karachi is always a slog for the IJ player. I have never faced less than level 9 forts when I get there ...Level 7 ... 2 - 3 weeks it should be yours. GOOD LUCK!!!

He has about 4,500 AV there, some of it poor quality Indian troops, the rest veteran Australian and British troops.

Sorry, I forgot that you had posted a snippet of the combat report. Crikey. nasty losses on that first assault. you're right (of course), 8 - 10 weeks for sure. Over 660 devices destroyed on your first attack, in addition to the +2000 disablements ouch. Recover those disablements and replace a couple of trashed ID's, yeah 10 days or so before your next attack. That far from Tokyo, how long will it take you to replace those destroyed devices? Even in the HI I would expect weeks, honestly though I've never suffered such big losses so far from the HI before ... disablements sure, I think my record is something like 4000, but 600 destroyed, ouch!

The battles around Karachi continue. An Allied resupply effort was largely thwarted with the loss of about 80 Japanese aircraft but the sinking of an Allied battleship (BB Mississippi), a large number of cargo ships, and damage to numerous other warships including HMS Warspite.

Assaults on Karachi continue at considerable cost in blood but with success in knocking down forts.

Wow! I think I saw Nemo's first post last fall and then forgot about this match. Obviously, you weren't impressed by Nemo's meta game (i.e. his usual psychological warfare outside the game) which has been the doom of other players. It's also great you found someone else to continue this.

I tried the Discord but it says "unable to accept invite." It would be very cool and useful to the rest of us geezers if you could do this as a proper AAR, or at least cover a few more details.

Anyway, I'd vote for a West Coast invasion if it seems at all feasible. He probably has a good garrison, though, as where else would he be putting the U.S.'s incoming troops and aircraft? It could be epic.

I suppose a few comments would be nice, such as how are supply and fuel holding up? Do you have enough to see you through to 1945? I imagine you've burned a lot of fuel.

Great effort and please keep up the good work.

EDIT: I found Jochen Heiden on Reddit (I've been there before), but if you could send a link to your discussion that would be great. I'm too old to navigate that site.

A West Coast invasion would be a lot of fun but not so sure it is feasible at this stage. He not only has the US forces there, but he also received a bunch of Indian divisions as emergency reinforcements that he has not been able to deploy to India in time.

Sure, I can post a bit more detail here. I'm not sure what to post so your questions in terms of what you want to see are helpful.

In terms of my supply, fuel, etc. This is where I am at right now:

Supply: 5.2 million
Fuel: 5.3 million
Oil: 3.4 million
Resources: 21 milllion

Everything is increasing rapidly at the moment except for oil, which is decreasing slowly. I don't forsee any problems making my raw materials last the long run here, even until 1946 if need be. The only issue of course becomes enemy action and how it might affect my industry.
