[FIXED] Auto RTB after take-off (?)

Post by Knightpawn »

Any theory why F/A-18C VFA-136 "Knighthawks 6" (and only this plane amongst all with the particular loadout) goes RTB immediately after take-off (regardless if solo, as part of a group, or part of a strike mission). I am totally baffled

PS: the plan is on board JFK Carrier

Since the plane is assigned to the JFK task pool without a specific mission, did you launch the plane individually from the air operations menu? I also get an RTB with Knighthawks #10 without an assigned mission within the task pool.

RTB on #10

I unassigned Knighthawks #6 from JFK task pool, resulting in a reversing of the RTB command:

Also, the "Strike mission" within the task pool is an air intercept mission setup that will be problematic with that loadout.

It RTBs in all the following variations:

Launched individually
Launched as part of a group
Launched as part of a strike mission

That particular plane only. I cannot explain the behavior

Ah — okay. It seems to be an issue with the specific unit ID within the scenario, which a developer might want to investigate—perhaps an incompatibility with an older build version in which the scenario was created. I removed the unit and replaced it with one of the same name in the editor. The only difference is that the unit is currently parked in the hangar, but the issue hasn't occurred again.

I have been playing the Command public beta 1.08 build 1638 on steam.

I have been encountering this issue at times playing through some of the tutorial missions. Easiest mission for reproduction is Strike Tutorial 1. The F-16's will be commanded to RTB not long after take-off.

I would also get this issue sometimes on Surface Warfare 5 with the 2 embarked helicopters.

I don't remember getting this issue playing through the Flight tutorials 1-8 however.

This should be fixed for the next update.
