Forum Address Change May 19th

Post by BBfanboy »

Here is a post from the Matrix main forum. I think it will mean we have to change our bookmarks to follow the new address structure.

Hi everyone,

We wanted to let you know that we're moving the Matrix Games forum to a new address on Monday at 11:00 AM EDT.

The current forum at https://www.matrixgames.com/forums will be relocated to https://forums.matrixgames.com.

There will be a short downtime of about 15 minutes during the move, so please plan accordingly.

I saw this and wondered if we should be bumping some older posts due to possible broken links?

I think forum search should still work since it is looking for a search string, not a web address?

Search should still function. I just know many guides/advice posting will be using links that are no longer valid... I think?

Just search for the topic and Alfred* so you can find his threads on various subjects. Other people have also contributed as well so there names could be used instead but Alfred put out a lot of helpful threads on various topics such a Logistics and ships Repairs. He was also very seldom incorrect and that may have been because of things that were changed in updates.

*I wish that he would come back.

Yes, this should improve the forum performance and old links will be forwarded to the new address.
This is nice.

But I will still update my bookmarks.

Got a problem with redirection for some old links and links to main forum pages. E.g. I get this for CMO.
