Exactly. It was a discussion of future plans. Not a promise.

Hi Dimitris

This is only for friendly units.
I propose to add the same feature for enemy units, so that I could click an enemy unit, for instance a SAM battery, and see the range circles without having to see the entire enemy IADS, thus saving some CPU cycles.
I think this could be very useful in large scens especially.

Show only selected unit (like you can do with contact emissions).

This way you save a lot of CPU cycles and still retain an easy way to get enemy range info.
I think this is already present.......?

Database Filter checkboxes

Post by JFS737 »

Hi,
in the editor, using the database to find units to add can be slow. It'd be nice if you could have checkboxes to select only say...
- Size (Personell, SM, M, LG, XL)
- Mass (> or < )
- SqFt same
- PAX same

This would make searching using the keyword system much faster. It would also be very useful in the "Munitions" database when trying to add same to Containers.

Re: CMO RUNNING POLL -Unit Status/Right sidebar changes

Post by JFS737 »

It seems they may be removing the "doctrine" quick menu from the right side "unit status" sidebar and I have a couple items I use often and will be missing.
#1 is the weapons state of the unit (HOLD, FREE, TIGHT.... etc). This is very valuable to me to be able to quickly see. Good news here is the "A" key sets HOLD/TIGHT but I need to be able to SEE quickly what each unit's status is.
#2 is the REFUEL allowed or not... state and ability to change (no quick key for this so it's critical).
#3 is "Ignore plotted course". I don't think there is a quick key here either and I like to have control and be able to monitor this as well.

So if the Doctrine stuff is going, I hope to please , please get quick keyboard commands for all of these and also to be able to SEE quickly which state a unit is in when I click on them.

I also wish to be able to quickly SEE which EMCON state they are in (radiating Radar or OECM or Sonar... etc).

Hoping the improvement to the sidebar/ unit status info will not remove all this and leave me / us struggling.

Thanks

Add GPU to the benchmark window.

Would it be possible to choose the color you'd like to use for the datablocks? I know at some point you could change it to a light blue. The issue is sometimes the layer color at a specific location doesn't mix well with the datablock color, making it hard to see them. An example is Opentopomap for standard terrain and white text.

You can use Ctrl + F9 to access the doctrine window, same way you can use F9 to access the Sensors window and change EMCON from there or right now use the right panel where you can uncheck the Inherit from parent checkbox and change your EMCON (this was recently added as suggested by some users in a specific topic where we asked about the removal of the Doctrine settings from the right side panel).

Thanks, I am aware of F9 and Ctl F9. What I'm requesting is... if they decide to remove the doctrine from the right side, then I will NOT be able to see the Refuel, ignore plotted course and weapons Tight/Hold information for any unit I click on... quickly. I would be FORCED to hit CTL F9 or F9 to see this and then would have to close the window. This would be a significant step backwards in playability. I wish to ensure they don't remove this functionality and indeed improve it (Emcon status?).
I would prefer actually.... to be abler to "Build" my own ride side status bar with individual items from the present info displayed (not the whole doctrine menu as it's not all critical info). Further I'd prefer it was a detacheable window so I could move it to my second monitor and add even more info. But for now, as it seems they are considering deleting it, I am writing to request mitigation that does not reduce ease of play.

Regards,
J

If Inherit from Parent is deselected it gets visible if a sensor is active or passive, it would be handy if the status would be visible somehow even change is not allowed by checkmark.

Just saw this.... Definitely need this feature. Thanks!

I assume that this is currently WAD rather than a bug, so therefore would it be possible for Cloned units to not automatically be given the Auto Detectable tag if they original unit/structure had the tag removed by the player/scen creator? It becomes a tad tedious to have to remove the tag from various structures which have been cloned.

What for?

The GPU has nothing to do with simulation execution performance.

Could we have an option to make weapons records beyond the 1/10000 type? I could also do a pick list if you want do it that way. I just need lower denominations and some differences in reload timing. So you could add 100 at 60 etc. and would totally be happy.

The issue is that there are missing weapons records in the database (see Hero, Brahmos NG), and the database team is often pretty busy. If you're stuck with a 10,000-entry, there are some issues with replenishment (don't want to fill that magazine). Likewise, I want to modify the reload rate as there are many missing mag entries etc.

Thanks!

Hi Dimitris,

If you have a pattern or lines of buoys you should be able to tell which ones are reporting a return and the strength.
That would indicate the real area of interest that could then be focused upon. On the other side of the coin, the sub would need to use tactics to avoid buoys. Perhaps reading Red Storm Rising was not the best briefing!

Any chance we can get a copy container button that copies the container and its contents in the cargo interface? I can do it via Lua so no biggie but would be a bit more efficient.

Thanks!

Would it be possible to allow users to click a row or left click from a group's cargo operations window to open the individual unit's cargo operations window? Finding things in large units (such as hundred-unit airbases) can be pretty time-consuming. Definitely a quality of life request.

Thanks!
