Need some help - Quick question on ship withdrawals

Post by Jaypea »

Hi All,

Appreciate some help . . . playing the AI in scenario 1 with latest build (v11.28.4) I need to withdraw the USS Nevada by June 15th and its in a long refitting. I can not stop that there is no button next to the "withdraw" text when viewing the ship detail. Any recommendations? I though it was possible to withdraw another BB in its place?? I have two in San Fran that could withdraw.

Any help appreciated!

Try putting the Nevada into readiness mode and see if you can withdraw it then. However, it'll probably take about three days (turns) to seal everything up and pull her out of the drydock to get her into readiness mode. Depending on how damaged she still is it might not be possible to withdraw her even then.

No, you can't substitute other BBs although it seems it would be logical to do so. Until this latest patch Nevada wasn't even one of those ships slated for withdrawal. But I guess players have mentioned in the past that she was sent to the Atlantic to participate in the Normandy invasion so I guess they decided to put her on the withdraw list.

You are pretty much SOL there until the refit is over. When a ship undergoes a refit in the game, she is out of commission until the designated time period is over. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing that you can do to speed up the process. This makes it imperative to double check the time required for a refit against any upcoming withdrawal dates.

Next time, check the withdrawls.

I also suggest that the Nevada be withdrawn as soon as is possible so when it comes back, it will have its refit finished. Of course, that is if the ship can even leave Pearl Harbor.

Also, if a ship has damage totaling fifty or more combining the other three categories, it will not withdraw....GP

Or you start over. It's okay to do that. But pay attention to your upgrades, and your withdrawal dates....GP

This why I try to turn off upgrade option for any warship the day the OPs report says they finished one up. It's just too easy to forget them later. Then the magic month arrives and boom. There's a fat battleship you planned to use elsewhere overwhelming your already overworked shipyard.

I turn off all auto upgrades to everything on the first turn, checking at the beginning of every month what does need doing that month and turning them on if in a possition to do so. Just as importantly I check what needs doing next month and planning to move them so they are in a position to upgrade.

This process mostly affects ships but is sometimes useful when it comes devices, TOEs and aircraft.

Its a good learning experience, lol. I am pretty good at watching upgrades and withdrawals. Its just that this one lasts 150 days, which is the problem. Unless you check it specifically you don't see the time length. Most upgrades are less than 30 days so usually this isn't an issue.

Oh no, check the upgrades for all of the older US battleships . . .
