Success for the Arabian Revolt?

Post by TheQuakerOatsGuy »

Hi All,
I have been wondering if anybody has had any success with the Arabian revolt script. I haven't been able to do anything with it. I actually did an entire second playthrough as the entente right after the first because I felt that I had bungled the situation in Arabia pretty badly (that and the naval war). Still, on the second play through, I didn't have much more success than the first. The partisan forces just seem so weak. Has anybody been able to take Aqaba or Mecca? If so, how?
Thanks!

The Arab Revolt is very easy to suppress in the regular game. All the Ottomans have to do is place detachments on or next to the partisan spawning hexes and they will face no further trouble.

If you are interested in seeing how the Arabs could become a real threat, check out my Icarus mod for SC WW1 (see the latest version posted today under Mods and Scenarios). The Arabs have many more spawning hexes, greater movement and fighting ability, plus they can upgrade to Infantry Weapons One when Lawrence arrives, well before taking Aqaba. In most of my recent games, the Arabs have been able to capture Medina by surrounding it and then reducing its supply to zero. Aqaba is more of a push, since the Ottomans can usually spare a general to cover it and it can be reinforced more easily by the rail heads in Palestine. Good luck!
