Player leaving multiplayer game in the lurch

I'm not sure if this is really a tech support post but I'm not sure where else it goes, and searching the Internet does not yield any answers.

If I am playing a three player game and one of them quits, but we're 120 turns in and so two of us would like to continue. If the departing player can do so he can resign by talking to the secretary and the nation becomes AI controlled. But what if the departing player cannot or will not do this? Is there some way to modify the save game?

If there isn't, maybe we move this thread to " Suggestions" and I request that some sort of " Boot player and set to AI" functionality is implemented?

ah the chair-to-keyboard interface is buggy indeed.

Its not buggy, its just trusting human players
