Turn Advance Bug

Post by Gustophus »

First, I really, really love this game!

But, I have a snag that is hitting me at turn 181 in the Week in Binh Long scenario. I get an error code that reads:

2025-06-09 13:51:46 vnengine.exe: [ERROR ID 1000] (appl.cpp, line 3154, ApplWindow:OldBattle0) Saves\Binh Long.btl file data error, at or before line 14126

I then reveals all enemy formations, as if the game seems over.

What is this and how can I fix it?

Oh no! That's not good.

May you post your save file and your logs files, please?

Quick question:

Which version of the game did you start the scenario under? (or how long have you been playing it?)

Hmm, that's weird. I was looking at the BTL file and it just cuts off at 14126

Code: Select all

l _TURNS_D_2ND_28TH_D2_NOT_LA ...
There should be a bunch of stuff after that.

Do you have your OLDER and OLDEST files as well?

I won't be able to do this until I get home.

But try to name your btl file with _archive at the end

And then

rename the _older file a just the normal game file name.

In essence, renaming the normal game file with a new name and then replacing it with one of the older files.

mygamefile.btl to mygamefile_archive.btl

mygamefile_older to mygamefile.btl
(or if that doesn't work, try the _oldest)

You might lose a turn, but I recall this happening once to me during my playthrough.

Let me know if that had any success, I'm going to assume it is a memory issue.

After I had started saving often, I don't recall it happening again.

I gave that a go and it worked through the turn. In the next turn, same error came about again.

Thank you for taking the time to look into the matter, but I get the same results. Still love this game, but looking at other scenarios now.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that

I don't understand why that's happening for you.
