Need adive with editor problem......

Post by HansBolter »

I'm having problems with the editor leaving scripts with asterisks after multiple attempts to update them.

The only edits I made to scripts was altering strengths of units set to deploy on future dates.
I made a few edits to the map including adding some fortifications.

The Amphibious, Amphibious Minor and Fortifications scripts refuse to update properly.
The asterisk indicates the script "may" contain errors.

When I try saving with the flagged scripts and running the game, many first turn invasions don't fire.

How do I go about locating the errors in the flagged scripts since they won't update?

Something may have become corrupted in my original game file.

I decided to start over on this edit by reopening the original Day of Infamy scenario and then executing a "save as" to a new name prior to editing.

When I attempt to execute the save as, I get the error message the some scripts need updating.
The Amphibious and Amphibious Minor scripts are flagged. Attempts to update each result in error messages referring to an inability to find a name on a certain line. The referenced lines only have a bracket with the name on the line below.

This is a scenario file that I have only ever opened in the editor for the purpose of executing a "save as". I have not edited this file. I have no idea how I managed to screw this up, but I need some help getting out of the fix.

How can I go about getting this corrected? Can someone send me an untainted copy of the scenario?

Yes, there seems to be a corruption of these files with the latest 1.03.04 patch and new DLC. The developers are working on a fix for it.

There is a workaround for the time-being: open a default game scenario, save it to a custom scenario, then copy/paste the original scripts over to the custom scenario. An odd thing but it seems to work to update the asterisks.

If you want then to export and save the custom settings, the editor has a glitch: the select data screen shows up when you close the editor, partially appearing in the upper left-hand corner of the computer screen. The select all data button is visible so you can still export the settings, but the editor clearly has this bug.

Thank you for the heads up and the work around.

Glad to know it isn't something I screwed up.
