Can auto-track civilians

Post by neno »

If I understand it correctly, the "Can auto-track civilians" option should make all civilian/commercial units visible on the map.

However, I can't get it to work. Am I missing something?

Select the sides and then tick the box for each one.

That is exactly what I do, but can't see any civilian unit. Does it work for you?

BTW, I have build 1706, but for me it also didn't work on older versions.

Something is going on, because I cannot in your scenario, but can in others.

Example, Operation Ardent Shield 2030, may you try this one, it is in the CSP?

Interesting... something must be wrong on my side. Which scenario is this, does it come with the sim? If not, where can I get it?

It seems I found the culprit: there needs to be a satellite in the scenario in order for autotrack civilians to work. Any random satellite will do.

Just tested the scenario commented above, removed the 2 sats on the Singapore side and still works.

Did you try this scenario or another one?

Edit: just tried your scenario and adding a Hawk ELINT sat for the blue side indeed works, for the blue and for the red.

This is undocumented?

I added the satellite to my scenario.

And you're right, It seems that removing the satellites does not remove the ability to track civilians. As long as there was a satellite added at some point, whether it was later removed or not, the auto-track feature will work.
