Flightplans and Reference Points

Post by 1nutworld »

Hi all,

I'm trying to teach myself how to make use of the Flight plan creator and editor functions.

I have seen PGatcomb's YouTube Videos and tutorials but I am still having trouble getting the flight plan creator and editor functions to do what I am trying to do.

I was attempting to create Flight plans to have a tanker support mission, an AEW (ASuW Mixed) patrol mission to help define targets for my bombers, and once those targets were detected send various bombers in to attack the newly detected targets was the goal of creating a new scenario. Looking for help at making these things all work together, please.

For one it seems like you can create a mission using reference points to set that up and then go into ATO to create a flight plan, but one time I set up a support mission for a tanker and the Flight plan creator basically used those reference points and next I established another separate pair of RP's to create an AEW mission, and then used create Flight plan and the second set of RP's was ignored.

Sorry for being stupid about things that have been around for a couple of years now but while I love the Flight plan creator idea, it seems as though I need to do things the old fashioned way and just bomb things myself. and forgo using Flight plans.

Flightplans only work for patrol and support missions if there is a Time on Station (ToS) or a Take off Time (TaoT) set. Doesn't sound like you set either.

Without a save can't tell you more.

Here's an attachment with the scenario.
please forgive the crudeness of the scenario as I am just working on figuring these tools out.

Thanks. Scott

Thanks Kushan. I appreciate the information and have edited the flight plans accordingly in the save file attached
