Something wonky about this campaign scenario.

UK/ Empire references the X Counter for both Brigade and Regiment. Indistinguishable in game without checking properties. Brigade attack 5 & 3, Regiments 2 & 2. Good luck keeping track of who's who. Alas, this cannot be corrected through bitmaps but would require editing of the campaign data. Easy enough to execute but it would then be recognized as a user campaign and explode any games in progress.

Japan have two units designated Regiments. A single weaker unit using the Brigade 'X' (2 & 2) and what appears to be the stronger standard Regimental unit (5 & 3) for the Campaign. See Screens below.

Examining the purchase screens in game and the Country Data from the editor it appears that no new units are available for any of the belligerents involved so each side has what they have for the duration.

Not sure how to address this. The single Japanese weak brigade we could work around but the UK/BE Brigade and Regiment situation remains problematic. I'm inclined to wait until the devs clarify the situation.

Aye, I just found this too regarding the units and their minute differences on both sides.
Also, later into the game, on turn 6, the Allies at least can buy units from the production table. I believe this is WAD.

I wouldn't worry about this, Epower, and much thanks for taking the time to do a deep dive into this!

I have to say, (hopefully without spoilers) that a player needs to be keen in these differences when playing Imphal-Kohima 44.
I would also recommend to the Devs NOT to change a thing either, as there is some distinct flavor here, and its important to look closely at your units, as some at first glance look the same as another, but in fact are unique. 🙂

Also...Tanaka and I are slamming out turns, and I probably will be making public our series on YT and lot sooner than Aug 1.
I decided to go straight NATO, and it looks fine.
And man, what a barnstormer of a scenario this one is. 🔥

Good spot on noticing that the NATO icons for some Allied regiments have the Brigade icon, I'll get that fixed our side - it is purely a Bitmaps issue.

Japan does not have any brigades. Japanese regiments are roughly equivalent to British Brigades and superior to Chinese divisions, so the campaign reflects this in its choice of units and unit stats.

The dismounted cavalry regiment is weaker than a regular Japanese regiment, but it was a regiment nonetheless.

Hopefully that answers all questions?

Thanks Bill. I took a closer look at the UK bitmaps and saw what I had missed earlier. Army row becomes brigade. Your OOB explanation clears things up nicely.
Now it's full speed ahead on Frankencounter for Older eyes v1.2

Did you mean 'Japan' instead of Allied, because there is one Japanese unit that is a brigade instead of a regiment.

No, I meant Allied as the Nepalese units have Brigade icons using NATO counters when they should have regimental ones.

Where do you see a Japanese Brigade?

Oh I will see if I can find it. (The Japanese one)
The Nepalese I thought was intended. 🙂

Ok now I know what I saw. (Seen this Japanese unit when playing against you and Tanaka in the south). (The Jpn Infantry unit that is dismounted cavalry...a weak unit designated as a brigade but supposed to be a regiment I guess).
So I get it now...its a regiment with the wrong NATO designation.
For a bit I thought I saw a phantom haha

Regarding the Nepalese 'Regiment' and comparing it with the Indian Brigade by looking at the properties, ok I see the problem that you guys found. So the Nepalese unit is a designated a Brigade but is actually a Regiment. Looking at the properties shows the stark difference. This explains things now and why I probably shouldn't hurl the Nepal units against the Japanese like they are Gurkha brigades

Great, I'll get these NATO counters fixed and then everything will become clearer.
