I am not sure where to look at when it comes to this supposed effect, in contrary, I even see an reversed effect eventually.Living Manual 1.30, p.338 wrote:20.4.2. Fort Level and AFV Damage
There is a small chance that attacking AFV ground elements may become damaged
during combat by mines. The probability of damage increases with the fort level,
representing the higher density of minefields.
This setup has edited Germans to not shoot and compares lvl 5 with lvl 0 Fort, to give it even more of an edge the lvl 5 Fort is in an worse road network Hex (average roads) vs the lvl 0 Fort (good roads).
So if anything, a worse road+ lots of Fort should make the life harder for tanks, right? Doing this two attacks 7-times each and looking for the post battle damaged T-34 I get following results...
Note:
- Occasionally Pioneers score a hit, but that doesn't change the grand picture.
- The sometime occuring Damaged Tanks (without there being any German DAMaging them are related to "breaks down in combat"-log reports, those seem to be related to Reliability I assume and do not proportionally increase with Fort levels.
- All the Elements (in MOT units mostly) seem to have a chance to be interrupted/damaged already on path to combat, that's what's causing most of the damage in this test (and in return seems to be not - or reversed - related to Fort levels)
0 Fort Hex, Damaged T-34 after attack:
19+11+14→14.7
8+24+7→13
13+11+22→15.33
9+12+16→12.33
13+20+24→19
4+12+18→11.33
7+21+10→12.67
[DAM+DAM+DAM→average]
average 7 tests: 14.05
5 Fort Hex, Damaged T-34 after attack:
4+15+11→10
14+7+5→8.7
7+4+9→6.7
5+3+7→5
12+19+16→15.67
13+19+17→16.33
14+9+5→9.33
[DAM+DAM+DAM→average]
average 7 tests: 10.25
So, not sure if I had the worst random rolls in history over this 14 tests or it as mentioned has an reversed effect (or it equals out after 50 more tests)). If this "pre battle damaging of AFVs/MOT Divisional Elements" has anythign to do with the "(missing) Mines" at all.
Pls tell me where to look at to see the effects described in the Manual.
Attached an example Scenario and tested Savegame, just attack the Germans NE of Königsberg as the arrows indicate in the pic.
