Really good game - looks a lot better in game than in the screenshots

Birth of America 2: Wars in America is the much expanded reprise of veteran developer AGEOD’s acclaimed first release, which allows players to command either side of the conflicts before, during and after the American War for Independence between 1636 and 1815. Apart from the engaging turn-based strategy play that has been expanded and vastly improved over the original, Birth of America 2: Wars in America includes major new features like an improved and expanded map including the Mississippi River, new European off-map boxes (France, Great Britain, Spain, Holland) and more.

Really good game - looks a lot better in game than in the screenshots

Post by GiveWarAchance »

I just bought this game. I really like it. I wanted this game cause it has the wonderful "War of 1812 campaign" which is only in this game. I like the War of 1812 after reading a series of books about it - very fun war with small but interesting battles on land and lakes. I like the other campaign themes too. I will have to print & read the manual to learn the game properly. The manual looks excellent-as-per-usual for AGEOD. I like the battles and the little armies with troops. cannons and supply wagons and Indian warriors.

My reason for this post is to advise that the game looks far better than the store page screenshots. The buildings, terrain and unit cards are more clear with much more color than the screenshots. I think when Slitherine did the screenshots, you had it on a very low resolution so I recommend posting some nice new screenshots so people see how good the game looks. The game info says this version is hugely improved from the original so maybe the graphics also improved a lot. AGEOD is good at making nice looking maps and unit cards same as in this game.

NOTE: for newcomers, when you run the game for the first time, it will ask you what resolution you want, and it has a "serial" tab that is vital you click on that and paste in your game code so it can load. For me I had to exit and then run it again and it ran fine after the code was saved by the game. This is unusual cause usually we have to enter the code during installation but not during loading.
