Airfields

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Airfields

Post by TangSooDo »

In the edit campaign, advanced options, a box can be selected for airfields. I can't find anything in the manual about how this works. What does this selection do?

Airfields were only introduced as a working feature recently, so they aren't explained in the Manual.

Details are however in the Patch notes:

- Airfields can now be set as an ADVANCED campaign option where air units can only operate to and from AIRFIELD or adjacent to AIRFIELD hexes.
- Airfields provide supply to both land and air units.
- Air units can operate to airfields even if the 'Airfields' option is not selected.
- OFFENSIVE, AMPHIBIOUS and AMPHIBIOUS MINOR events can now all be scripted to target airfields.
- UNIT scripts can now be set to deploy units at airfields, e.g. the same as cities, capitals etc.
- Production/Deployment Queue now includes 'Airfields' as destinations for air units.

Where is the concerned button in advanced options screen, please ?

I did not found it in my SC3 WIE version (that is the last : StrategicCommand-SetupRelease-v1.30.00.01)

In the central directory of the game, I founded a pdf file named "whats new" and it contains that :

"Airfields can now be set as an ADVANCED campaign option where air units can only operate to and from AIRFIELD or adjacent to AIRFIELD hexes".

But I have no any airfield option button in interface of my SC WIE version

Due to the fact this thread is in the SC WIE forum, I suppose it does concern SC WIE, and not SC World war (global world war)

This is something that has to be turned on in the Editor, not in the game options.

To be effective, it will also require adding Airfields to your campaign.

It would be nice, but Engineers are restricted to just building fortifications.

ok, thanks. Perhaps a future way of feature 8-)

Would be interessant if Engineers could be able to build airfields and ports (ports would need lot of time and MPP ressources, of course ; and airfields in building or ports in building could be attacked by ennemy to slow work)
