Equipment modding guides/documentation?

The sequel of the legendary wargame with a complete graphics and interface overhaul, major new gameplay and design features such as full naval combat modelling, improved supply handling, numerous increases to scenario parameters to better support large scenarios, and integrated PBEM++.

Equipment modding guides/documentation?

I've been toying with an idea to try and model sci-fi warfare in TOAW IV, and for that I'd need to learn equipment modding. I've found a document on the subject in the game files, but it's very far from comprehensive and uses software that I'm not sure is still available. Do any other guides, tips, documents etc. on the subject exist? I can't seem to find too much...

Gotta know how the Editor itself works first. But there is a little bit on equipment modification.
