Lag issues

Post by Jim D Burns »

Coming back to the game after a long break and have run into a real issue with lag I've never seen before. I've tried setting up shortcuts for both the normal .exe and the noLLA.exe, but both versions have major interface lag when clicking to add/remove ships to or from a fleet in addition to scrolling lag when a task force is selected and I'm trying to set a destination for it by scrolling to a far off base. It's so bad the game is basically unplayable. I've screwed around with command switches but nothing helps.

I run Win 11 home edition and have run the game fine on this version of Windows in the past, so I assume it has something to do with a recent game patch change. Here's my latest command line switch setup, I've also tried -Cpu4 instead of -SingleCpuOrders but it made no difference.

-SingleCpuOrders -f -altFont -dd_sw -multiaudio -skipVideo

Anyone else have similar issues? Have you found a fix for the problem?

I should mention that in addition to the lag issues, the yes/no selection pop-up does not work when trying to disband a fleet into a port when I try and use a mouse click on it. It does work if I hit the Y or N keys. Oddly enough the yes/no pop-up does work with a mouse click when I exit the game.

If I recall there was a color switch that fixed the lag issue. Second the disband was changed to require a keyboard y or n. Thinking of mapping one of my extra buttons on my mouse to y and another to n

Thank you!

I added -deepColor and that did the trick.
