Vinegar Syndrome [v1.26 j3-o2] - quick report

Post by Don_Kiyote »

I seem to have won this one.

Its not quite turn 100, but I've grinded so hard that my regime is emerging with several successful expansions, while its competitor Majors are still struggling. The final restraining factor, namely Population, is about to be overcome, as a previously isolated Minor Regime has recently joined our confederacy, bringing a territory teeming with people.

Population: The rough numbers are that, up until about four turns prior to this save-game, my regime's entire total pop was barely over 100,000 *including feral Free Folk*, while the new zone mentioned above contains just about 300,000 souls, with some 220,000 of those already Citizens.

Notably, this run's Regime was blessed with an abundance of talented personnel from the beginning. I think there are about eight Cap IV Leaders hanging around by now, plus one Cap VI (yes,6), the first I've seen. So, by now, turn 94 where I plan to put the run aside, the Regime administration is super-charged with hefty Leader bonuses all over the place.

Anyways, the world:
Colossal Base Sea, Archipelago-like continent formation (similar to Indonesia), mountainous, low water availability despite torrential caustic rain, and sparse, spread out human populations.

The regime became absolutely pop locked about turn 75.

But by then I'd been able to build or recruit everything which was absolutely necessary, and no more. Also by then, the Tier I (versus tier zero) infantry had come out, and combat losses to native critters had become nil. I didn't actually need any more population. So we just sailed along for a while with a tiny trickle of new people, without issue, doing other stuff.

Finally, after persevering through much wilderness exploration, a full fledged human Minor Regime was located, and swiftly unified with.

For now, we are just waiting for the right Maritime connection to be arranged.

This is not a full report. My apologies to the Secretariat. I'm also not sure if anyone wants to see how it's going in game, but the save file is duly attached.

I had lot of fun with this run. It had a nice rising arc (ie. eXpansion) using native Infantry, and continued to generate a steady string of interesting circumstances and situations, such as the salvage of an intact AI's zone- way beyond my logistics range- following a native fauna infestation. Conquest without War!

Some problematic aspects worth mentioning quickly were the farming-versus-fishing problem, as Ports produced lots of fish cakes; the continuing drama over Militia management, which automation I'm still learning how to use; and my failure as a player to materialize a 'Government' themed Political faction, despite really trying.

Thanks for reading, and Best Regards,
D. Kiyote

Replying to my own post because it's a decent place to drop a copy of the world I'm currently playing on, 'Pevelan D'.

This planet was generated under v1.27a, all modules enabled, with higher difficulty settings

Geologically, its very similar to the planet of the AAR above this post: Big, hot and wet; pH 0.

But there a smaller seas, isolated from each other, and none of the same population troubles. It seems to have plenty of 'Slaver' regimes. I started surrounded by three of them. After further exploration however, there appears to be a full range of minor regimes planetwide.

(I haven't yet resigned to view the complete map.)

Here is the .lastplanetgenerated file:
