This is the AAR of Nginear (Japan) vs Inbello (Allies) in Nginears MEGA Pacific mod from the Allied POV. Nginear is posting an AAR in his POV too, check it out.
I only have limited experience in the MEGA Pacific Mod so It will be exciting for me to see how this will go. This is also my first ever AAR. You will have to excuse any rough edges.
Strategic View on the Situation
Nginear will hit me and hit me hard in the first Months of the War, he will be able to use the my limited experience to his Advantage. Japan actions in the first few turns are pretty predictable. (Strikes towards the ressource rich Areas in SEA, taking control of the western Pacific.) If I act predictably to he will have very good chances of winning. His experience would favour him greatly.
Theory of Victory
I therefore need to do some unusual stuff. Taking him out of his comfort zone is my best chance of winning. Yet I may not become predictably by stringently adhearing to an unusual Plan. (This is going to be my biggest challenge in this Game.

I have drawn up a few Plans that I could enacted depending on his actions and the Situation:
The Thailand Gambit
He moves considrable force into burma and seeks to advance into India. A large combined US Taskforce of surface ships and Troops will use the automated shortcut to the Indian Ocean. They will take out Thailand, cut his supply lines via amphious assault, crush his forces in Burma ( This may necessitateda landing in Rangoon) and then withdraw. A small Taskforce will divert his attention to the eastern Pacific in the run up to the Thailand Gambit. The initiall attack should take no more than 5 turns (too surrender Thailand, 2,3 more turns to more Clean up Burma)
The northern way in
His concentration of force far away from Japan indicates lackluster defences in Japan itself. The strategic situation has not develop in our favour. I'm ready to gamble everything on a single play. Bases in Alaska will be build up and used to facilitated a suprise landing in northern Japan. Everything available will be used in this attack. Units that cannot be moved in to Theater in time will launch aggressive attacks elsewhere. The Goal is to overwhelm him. (Trap his Units between far flung bases and a Japan (Home islands) under Attack. Our own losses are secondary.
The western Dragon
His advances in China seem to be the main threat. China and US cooperate (Don't know this yet, will test it out.) The US has spare ressources Move a US HQ and multiple US Air units into China. Use them to stop his Advances. Give the Chinesse breathing room. This is only a good Idea if the US Air Units are otherwise underutilized.
I plan on adding more plans and operations to my list as the game goes on and the strategic Situation develops. I don't know if I will even use them but I will try to organise my Ideas.
