Question to Hubert/Bill about interface modding

Post by welk »

Please, are these 2 images moddables ? (first screen capture) I did not found them in bitmaps and in interface directories

And second question (second screen capture) : how could I erase (or rework) the red/blue base that is displayed under units HQ when player choice "3D units" with bases ? I did not found any graph in bitmaps and interface directory about these base circles. I set "invisible" the 2 files "counter sprites", for each side in bitmaps and also in general bitmaps directory, but the base stay displayed when player choice bases for 3D units.

Hi

On the first question, you'll need to modify the unit_sprites file for Major_07.

On the second, the unit_counter_flag_sprites would be used to draw something like that there over top of the counter base sprite.

Hopefully that helps!

Thanks for 1° question : it work. To use these 2 graphs was a good idea to martyrize crazy modders

Concerning 2° question : the pb is that I have erased the content of all counter sprites files in the game, by security to test. Logically, if these are used to create the circles, these circles should no more be displayed.

But they stay in place (blue for blue side, and red for red side (the 2 sides of my mod).
In reason of the used colors for the circles, I suspected that the program create (in hard code) automatically these circles, basing his action on the color of sprites each side, and I tested to give the 2 sides the same blue color for all sprites (3D and nato). But it changed nothing, blue side keep blue circles and red side keep red circle.

And I did not found no any file in bitmaps and Interface directory that could intervene to create these mysterious circles. Seems it's hard coded because only HQ have these blue and red circles circles, not other units (and this last fact is logical because I hare erased the content of all unit coubnter sprites files in the game (for all powers, and in game + in user campaign)

EDIT : pb is Solved => It was the unit_counter_flag_sprites that created these circles, I forgottet it in my searching.

Hubert placed little piece of graphs everywhere to martyrize the poor modders.

All works perfect now, thanks ;)

I am in the last way : I have just to finalize settings parameters in editor, and to do the readme + organize the mod arborescence (I will incidenty build a generic arborescence "ready to use" for community)

The largest work was made by Hubert, with the excellent AI and the powerfull editor (except for sounds : grrrrr ! ) : my work was just to adapt with some tips :P

And I think that in addition of this battle system, you will have 2 or 3 little surprises in the future, when you will see what kind of singular and original games may be done with the engine, using some tips in graphs files and parameters : SC3 is almost a "build your own wargame generic perfect system" 8-)
