Question for Bill + Arborescence generic tool

Post by welk »

Preparing arborescence of my mod, I tried to build a "generic" arbo that could be "ready to use" (a practical "ready to use" arbo is better to understand and use than all explanations)

At this time, this projet or generic arbo has very probably some wrong contents because I placed all possible directories but I suspect that some are in wrong place.

Please, Bill : could you take a look, and then to erase directories that are in wrong place (or to add directories that are not when they should be) ?

Yes, though the Mods folder is just for graphical changes, rather than for modded campaigns, so you do have some unnecessary folders in that section.

Ok, thanks

Concerning sub-directories of the mod directory, I based my model about this, in the readme (blue and green lines):

Mod packages that simply include modified graphics, sounds as well as possibly localization text, that will overwrite the game defaults,
must be installed to this folder in order for the game to properly locate and read the modified files.

Example:
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Mods\<modfoldername>
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Mods\<modfoldername>\Bitmaps
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Mods\<modfoldername>\Interface
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Mods\<modfoldername>\Sound
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Mods\<modfoldername>\localization.txt

Mod packages that also include modifications to the default campaigns can be installed here as well.

Example:
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Mods\<modfoldername>
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Mods\<modfoldername>\Campaigns
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Mods\<modfoldername>\Campaigns\_1939 World at War
Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Mods\<modfoldername>\Campaigns\_1939 World at War\Bitmaps

Would be interessant if you could post a attached arbo that will be exactly "what it should be", It will be a "official model"

Well you can place it there, but if it's a modded campaign then I would simply place it here:

Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\Strategic Command WWII - War in Europe\Campaigns\
