Have you tried restarting the game?
Did you change anything in the file: "Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2/Dat/GuiColors.json" ?

You can try deleting the file I have asked for and then (depending on the Client you use to start the game) do a check for the game files, so it will be downloaded new.
...that's assuming something went wrong with this file on your PC, for whatever reason.

Are you using the same version of the game you were using back in March 2025? Is this happening when you start a new game, or just when you load in a specific save game file? If it happens when you start a new game, I suggest you reinstall the game. If it's still happening after you reinstall I suggest you contact Matrix support in case they have seen this kind of thing before in other games. It would be good to include a dxdiag for your system.

If this is only happening when you load in a particular save or MP file, than it sounds like the file might be corrupted, or something has changed with your system since March. Again, a dxdiag and contacting Matrix support might help. Have you tried loading an earlier save file?
