Strategics bombings

Post by cirrius06 »

hello everyone,
I couldn't find this thread on the forum, so I'm taking the liberty of jumping in.
My opponent (the Allies) started repeatedly conducting strategic bombing raids right from the start of the game.
After three weeks of play, I've already lost 1860 VP.
What are the general rules for strategic bombing raids?

Probably the first question would be which particular scenario are you two playing? Just want to make sure weren't not talking about the '45 Downfall one.

I think there's a bug because after bombing Tokyo with their 3 CVs, the Japan player had a 350 VP penalty in strategic bombing, and 10 days later, we're up to 1860 VP!
Small and large industries were affected during the raid but since then they are gradually repairing themselves, so why are the penalties for strategic VPs increasing?

Another question;
A few years ago, if 4E bombed below 10,000 feet, they did far too much damage compared to reality.
Has this bug been fixed with the latest version 1.28b ?
thanks.

Are you seeing a "FIRES" line in the Tokyo pop-up? Those really rachet up the damage level.

No, actually, the fires were extinguished two days after the attack.
Of course, in light industries, I lost 740 out of 2,240, and only a few in heavy industries.
What I find unrealistic is that the victory points lost (1860) are equivalent to 8 aircraft carriers. This is either a bug or exaggerated!

That is the game.

Okay, I'm willing to believe that's the game, but I find the number of VP lost to bombing (even strategic)
is exaggerated compared to troop and ship losses. :?
I think there needs to be better calibration on this subject...
Thanks for your comments.

Damaged factories result in 2 VP for each piont damage but can be repaired but the VP remain. Fire storm and A Bombs destroy factories completely at a cost of 20 VP per point and cannot be rebuilt. This represents the inability of the Japaese industry inability to contribute to the global war effort.

Civilian losses are represented in the industry losses, those civilian losses are bad for the nation.
