Henschel Hs 123 data

Post by Lurberri »

The Henschel Hs 123 has a lower top speed than its cruising speed (173 mph max speed versus 179 mph cruise speed), which is nonsense. In most sources I've reviewed, I've seen cruising speeds ranging from 176 to 197 mph and a max speed between 210 and 214 mph.

P.D.: I forgot to mention that it is when it carries two 50kg bombs and the 150L drop tank but that doesn't change the fact that it's not possible to have a higher cruising speed than a higher top speed. When it has no load, and in the editor, it has a max speed of 193mph.

Where do you see this? Both have 179 cruise and 193 max

On the unit's page, the 10.(Sch)/LG 2, if the 150 L drop tank and two 50 kg bombs are added, the maximum speed decreases to 173 mph, but the cruising speed remains unchanged at 179 mph (since the cruising speed is never changed in any aircraft, regardless of the load). It is expected that the maximum speed in all aircraft decreases with the addition of a bomb load or an auxiliary tank (or both), but I have not seen until now a case where it decreased below the cruising speed.

I've been checking all the sources I could find about the Henschel Hs 123, and the maximum speed in the game seems to be somewhat reduced, which is why the problem I described in the first post appears to be occurring. In all the sources, the speed is clearly higher.

Sounds reasonable to increase max speed to 330 km/h.
I just have some magazines with details about the Hs 123 - none of them claim a 132Dc engine but 123A-3. A-series had a direct-drive fixed-pitch propeller and 900m rated alt vs claims of variable pitch and reduction gearing on Dc with no info on rated alt.
