Selecting Unit click sound question

Post by OldCrowBalthazor »

Here's one for you. :)

Is there anyway to lower or quiet the ingame sound when selecting a unit or item in a production or research screen (or any other selection) within the game or editor itself?

This pertains to my recording for YT and I have wondered about this for about 4 years of SC content creation.

I have a 'quiet' mouse and that helped a bit...but the main source of mouse clicking (selecting) is in game.

I would like to quiet that part in the vids without resorting to trying and fiddling with 3rd party audio software.

Finally got around to asking this after a recent critique I have had with the game sounds, which was from my wife!
Now we all know our girls are right about things. Always. :D

Hi, give this a try. I quickly experimented with it a bit.
Version (v2) has been turned down to only one percent of the volume.

Thanks.
Since this is a mod...when planning a MP game, I wonder if the other opponent needs to have the the same version.
The Slitherine server won't allow a challenge to commence without both parties having the exact version of a game.

It should actually work one-sided since it only concerns sound files and is ultimately of a cosmetic nature. Unless Slitherine changed something in their matchmaking.

Ok cool.
I see you have two different mods here and have read the differences between the two.

What is the path to install this mod correctly?
Big thanks btw

In and of itself, this modification works the same way as any other in this game. You activate it through the options menu.
The installation path should be as follows:

ACW, WITP: Documents\My Games\Strategic Command - ACW or WITP\Community Pack\Mods
WWI, WAW, WIE: Main game folder\Community Pack\Mods

So your path for this sound mod is different then the one used for modded game scenarios such as (Example) Documents/My Games/SC WW1/Campaigns.

Got it.
