Multiplayer Anyone?

Post by Timian »

Just posted four challenges.

One each Axis and one each Allies for:

“Closing the Noose - Battle for Cherbourg.”

“Get The Hell Off The Beach! Bloody OMAHA.”

If you’d like to play a different scenario, just let me know. Will play either side.

If you are ok with a slow game, I'll play either side of the campaign scenario.

No more than a turn a day, sometimes less.

Still on the fence for this title .... response thus far seems to be slow out of the gate for this title .... any chance you guys could post an occasional update/AAR .... would like to get a flavor for the flow of things ......

Working on an AAR of “Get The Hell Off The Beach! Bloody Omaha.” Other than want to see an AAR, do you have any questions? Don.

Thanks for the offer Don ....

Just looking at some of the posted screen shots .....

- Stacking limits ?
- Unit management would appear a challenge within any given command structure. Lots of units .... Does the UI help simplify things ?
- Basic impression relative to the UI overall might be helpful .....
- multiplayer thru server or emailing files back and forth (similar to AE WitP) ?

Don't know enough to ask much ....

Multiplayer only. In World in Flames, I’ve pushed files back and forth . . . Prefer multiplayer.

UI . . . I’m a bit of a grognard, prefer “drag-and-drop” vs. the newer “click-move controls”. When dealing with large stacks, I find “drag-and-drop” cleaner.

I tend to manage / think along the lines of a corps’ mission and then the tasks to the subordinate divisions and independent units (of that corps). Moving divisions to different corps as the situation changes. (Not sure I answered your question.)

Max stacking = 9. You can aggregate battalions (battalions = 2 stacking points each) from the same regiment / brigade into a regiment / brigade (4 stacking points). I find aggregating helps keep the number of units in a stack small. More manageable.
