Best intro scenario

Post by kch »

Hi..

I am new to the game, so I was wondering which scenario is a good starter scenario, either in the base game or in the DLC? I am looking for something that can help me get an understanding of how the game works. Or maybe it is best just to jump in at the deep end with the grand campaign?

Thanks

Hi, I would recommend 1916 The Big Push as it is purely an infantry and artillery battle, plus a bit of cavalry too.

Hi - I personally like the 1912 Balkan League DLC. It has several different land theatres of combat and a small naval dimension as well, but no tech and no diplomacy and only infantry, artillery, cavalry and HQs. Or, you can just jump into the 1914 Call to Arms campaign and play it against the AI on the default settings. I think that's how most of the rest of us learned the game!

Cheers,

Michael

Thanks for the suggestions! It is a bit of a beast when you first open it up, so all input is much appreciated.

East Prussian campaign - Hindenburg, very short, easy to win as Germany, almost impossible to win by Russia. Mostly Infantry based campaign, very less of artillery, airforce, no navy.

I like the 1st Balkan War scenario. Interesting situations for both sides to manage.
