Do you play windowed/full screen, 1/more displays? Why?

Post by MarkShot »

This and WITW is one of the very few games I play windowed with 2 displays active.

Usually, I use either a 21" 4:3 1600x1200 display for working, or 1080p 32" TV except for very old games.

I think the reason is that the game is so complex besides official docs. I have an entire desktop of reference materials (still using WIN XP metaphor; separate groups for each game). It is just quicker to not jump in and out of the game, but have things a mouse away.

Just curious. How do you play? Thanks.

Below is 2 individual displays, and I guess the capture tool normalized the aspect ratios.

Full screen. Thats it. I am not all that tech savy.

And to be honest after an hour or so I need a break from so I have my browser open, and sometimes the manual.

Always full screen. Otherwise I may miss something that could cost me later.

So, you are a laptop guy.

I know if I go full screen (same res), that flipping is very fast. Just as fast as mousing windows, but psychologically the flash seems to make me lose continuity. Weird, ha?

Currently in a first play thru, windowed mode on one screen and the player manual on a second screen.

Prior WitW player, so letting the Germans kick my butt, while sorting through game differences.

I play on a 32-inch monitor in windowed mode (to easily open other programs).

32 inches is good, but I still need glasses to see the details. :(
I've gone through the manual and written down important details as notes.

A to-do list that you can work through each move would be great, so you don't forget anything.

We could create a list here with a specific order to help newcomers as well.

That was an admirable effort, but there is so many items and many context dependent.

If you play enough, it becomes SOP.

A spreadsheet would be good with filters either based Scenario/Campaign, Context, or Frequency. Not that one would strictly follow it, but after your first 200 turns, it will become SOP. (I did try doing one for myself, and I ran into those issues.)

Thanks, you're welcome.
I made a request some months ago when I had some leeway to fill, didn't hear back, so likely unfit for duty.
