Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #5. Impulse Planning. USA.

(1) US has 6 BBs, 1 CV & 1 CA based at Pearl.
(2) This impulse they'll rebase (an additional) CV & CA from San Diego to Pearl.
(3) This will satisfy, USA-WAR-31 "Fleet to Pearl"; specifically elements (B) & (C), with (A) 6+ BBs already met.
(4) This will immediately increase the US DOW % vs Japan from 20% to 40% (vs Germany/Italy will remain at 20%).

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #5. Impulse Planning. CW.

(1) The CW will take a land action.
(2) In West Africa, the CW supported by the French will finish off the Italians in Morocco (Balbo HQ-I & inf div).
(3) They also identified Alexander HQ-I, V inf & XIV mot corps to push east into Algeria.
(4) In East Africa, British high command initially consider capturing Asmara, Eritrea this turn.
(5) However; they decided on a more patient and sure approach to wait for next turn when the RN BBs, currently in East Med[0], will be available to provide 9 factors of shore bombardment (given fine weather in the Med WZ).
(6) Also, by waiting UK 1st inf div & KEN Terr (at sea) will be (re)directed towards Ethiopia.
(7) The CW (& French) decides to wait as long as possible to replace the 7 CPs knocked out (6 sunk, 1 aborted) in the Faeroes Gap and the 1 supply CP aborted from the East Med.
(8) The CW and French are nibbling at the edges of the Euro-Axis and those edges are the Italians!

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #5. Impulse Planning. USSR.

(1) The Soviets decide to change their axis of advance (again) vs Japan.
(2) This time back towards the Liaotung Peninsula (Manchuria & Port Arthur) and away from Korea.
(3) The Soviet Asian fronts are order to blitz back into the position they voluntary gave up last impulse.
(4) However; this impulse the Soviets are able to blitz the IJA Garr army in the open vs assaulting the same garrison in the Mtns.
(5) Also, as you shall see in the next planning post, the Soviets; specifically comrade Stalin, put pressure on Mao to make a high risk, high reward assault!
(6) The Soviet planned blitz though fair odds is far from risk too.
(7) There's a lot at stake this impulse with the Soviets & CCP vs Japan.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Allied #5. Impulse Planning. China.

CCP.
(1) Mao, under pressure from the Moscow, decides to go for broke with and attack a lone Terauchi HQ-I.
(2) Mao's risk is complicated by China's anemic production; but in war much must be risk.
(3) Also, with Chiang on the ropes in the south, a much needed victory would be big.
(4) However; a bad loss (i.e., 8th Rte army, Mtn corps both destroyed) would be very bad.
(5) Will Terauchi elect to fight an assault or blitz?
(6) Also, will he elect to provide defensive HQ support?
(7) I need to do some figuring on how to "best" answer those questions.

Nationalist.
(8) No doubt about it, Chiang in the south (Szechwan Valley Region) is on the ropes.
(9) There's really little he can do but hope that that Yamamoto rolls poorly.
(10) In Central China, the Nationalist units are ordered to support Mao given Mao's high risk, high reward land combat to come.
(11) This means that the Nationalist cav corps & div will have to abandoned their raiding and support Mao's southern flank along with the Nationalist Garr army & Chengtu Wld corps.

Thanks for following! My approach keeps evolving in the search for a better format and to keep things fresh.

I find that publishing my play keeps my solo counterfactual attempt honest to all major powers. Well, honest from my perspective. A perfect example was the CCP high risk, high reward blitz vs Terauchi that took him out last impulse. I could see the counterfactual of Stalin directly pressuring Mao to attack in general support of the Soviet combat operations raging just a bit north and across the border in southern Manchuria.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Axis #6. Impulse Planning. Germany.

(1) Germany takes a land to continue their aggressive mobilization to the Eastern Front (frontier).
(2) I think they'll have no problem meeting GER-WAR-100 (A), which is to exceed their pact break ratio of -37 this turn.
(3) It's currently at -44.5.
(4) Now whether or not they can met (B), which is to be able to break the pact next turn (13SO41) is very debatable.
(5) However; they must try within reason to do so.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Axis #6. Impulse Planning. Italy.

(1) Not really much for Italy to do except move around a couple of units.
(2) They do have a Sub Gp along with 2 Ge U-boat flotillas in the Faeroes Gap waiting (hoping) for the CW/Fr to replace the 7 CPs knocked out earlies this turn.
(3) Also, the CW/Fr will need to replace their lost supply CP in the East Med.
(4) Unfortunately there are no longer any axis assets (sea or air) left to challenge such a replacement.

Turn 12. Jul/Aug 1941. Axis #6. Impulse Planning. Japan.

Manchurian Coal RP 68,151.
(1) I did learn something that I probably should have know?
(2) I thought cutting the rail between RP 68,151 & Port Arthur was sufficient to block it from reaching a Japanese factory.
(3) However; I overlooked the fact that since this RP is on the coast, it can be shipped directly via the China Sea to a Japanese factory with no need to be railed to port.

Active WAR Directives.
(4) Japan took a land for an all out effort (assault) to take Chunking.
(5) With the exception of 2 units (SNLF div & OOS MIL), Yamamoto's entire army group will be taking part in the assault.
(6) In Northern China, with Terauchi HQ-I knocked out & his entire Army Group out of supply there's really nothing THIS impulse that requires any units to move and flip.
(7) So they'll remain on their current positions.
(8) In Manchuria and Korea, don't see any need to move any of the Japanese forces so they'll also most likely remain on their current positions.
