Thought I'd start a questions thread for anyone with any questions.

Question: for disrupted units are civilians considered enemy as far as moving disrupted units towards them?

Question: is it the case where my disrupted unit cannot move towards an enemy unit even if the enemy unit is not in my disrupted units LOS?

Civilians shouldn't be considered enemy, unless they are civilians that are acting as LOS spotters, but those are rare.

Yes, that's most likely true.

Hello budd, great question. I checked the code to be certain, and Civilians are indeed excluded while only spotted (visible) enemy units are considered. No relieve to Fog of War by considering the move restrictions for a disrupted unit, then.

(IsCivilian check returns true simply if unit's victory points equal to zero or are negative, there's the cue Jason was talking about)

Follow up question, what about LOS of another of your units? Can my disrupted unit move in the direction of an enemy unit that is not in LOS of the disrupted unit but is in LOS on another friendly unit? Think this is what happened but not sure with FOW, it was about 5-7 hexes away.

New question: what about when I want to play the not recommended side of a scenario, say side "B" instead of side "A" , what will the experience be like. Mainly asking about the AI, just basic AI with no LUA I imagine. Some scenarios after playing them seem like they would be more interesting from the other side.

Quite frankly, it won't be a good experience. The AI that is not scripted is pretty dumb.

Eventually I will get around to scripting both sides, but at the moment if it says to play as one side, I'd recommend playing that side.

Yes, the general rule is you can't move towards the closest enemy unit - regardless of distance (I think).

Thanks, figured that was the case. Would be nice if it was by individual unit, no chance for addressing this in the future? I think this has always been my biggest gripe with the system. Especially trouble some on large maps. Of course I don't code, so i know not what I ask ;)

To clarify, when a scenario description says "all" that means it is playable from both sides?
ALL usually refers to the recommended optional rules to use.

Yes, recommended Side(s) is typically - or should always be - at the title row of a scenario decription, after the Area of Operations tag. Optional rules then are listed in the bottom row.
