Yes.

Worked on WinXp, Win10 and Win11 with no problem. Very stable. No errors, no CTDs.

You may have to set up some switches in the beginning, but after that game runs smoothly.

I got all kinds of weird visual problems and visual artifices in WiTP on Windows 10 on Surface Pro 4 until I gave up trying to play years ago.

Has this since been fixed. Or could it be down to the very odd display resolution of the Surface Pro line of products?

I don't know but you can try installing it using the Seabee utility program.

Do you happen to have a link to said program, and a quick overview of what it does?

I would love to get the game transfered to my new (ish) gaming laptop.

I still have it on my Surface Pro along with my saved game. IIRC, I am in early 1943 as the Allies. So I have probably a good 2500+ hours in that saved game.

Thank you!

The "weird visual problems and visual artifices" problems sound very much like the problems the switches can totally fix.
It sounds complicated but once you understand the idea, switches are pretty simple. This game came out when WinXP was the major Operating System (OS) and Computer Hardware was far less capable than what we have now. Game programs are 'apps' that use the OS to do things needed for the program to work. The software that finds the right part of the OS to tap into is a 'hook'. As the Windows OS and hardware progressed the location and functioning of these OS routines changed so the game became unable to communicate with the OS. The 'switches' are small text prompts that get the communication back. See the thread on "Slow Performance" for explanations of the various switches and where they need to be installed (and the very specific format).
Or you can read a bit about the switches and what types of problems then fix, then get the Seabee Alpha program (in the stickied area of the tech forum), install it and pick the switches you want to try. Because each computer has different hardware and video software, you may have to try several different switch combinations to get results. Just remember to only change one at a time before starting the game to see if it works.

WitP or WitP AE there's a big difference. No idea what Surface Pro is. Can't remember anything about getting the former to run (don't remember a problem) but latter requires switches to be used as point out.

Here's a guide to switches https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopi ... 4&t=392927

Oh this looks helpful, all of the command line inputs of years past, put into an easier to use software.

Thank you!
