PaK 40 75mm ATG HE round

Post by M60A3TTS »

Would someone advise on what type of HE round this gun used, and how effective it was against soft targets.

I can say that in general way more HE rounds were used than AP for the Paks (if that helps). Once seen a German report about that in the archives, not sure if I could find it again.

When it comes to high hitratios (if the concern is that they seem to hit 16 out of 29 shots), then I can say that AT guns seem to consume (in tonnage) one full "burst"/RoF worth of Ammo per "shot"/FPE. So the actual hitratios are way smaller.
You can find some of that info in this Post, not sure if it's all (still) correct and applicable to all scenarios (attack/defence) in the same way.
