Unable to find PW Data

Just downloaded WitP:AE again on my new computer. It says I'm unable to find PW Data, I'm not really knowledgeable in tech stuff despite growing up with it. From what I understand I need to have the shortcut target some which I have it doing and yet it won't work.

I installed it as normal frpm Matrix Games and didn't mess with anything else. My game version is Update v1128Beta.

If you downloaded the file as it is on Matrix, it is a compressed file and you need to run that .exe to 'unpack' all the program data. Another thing is that you cannot just copy the directory of the installed program and have that work as a new install - you need to do a proper install to update the computer's installed file list so it can find it.

Another thought - if you just downloaded the .1128 version, that is an update patch - not the base program. You must download and install the base program from 2009 and then install the .1128 patch.

Didn't realize I had to install the original version of the game before installing the update
