At one point, race-specific components obtained from another empire weren’t used by the auto-designer. This has been fixed, and that’s great. But now, there’s a kind of reverse bug: in some cases, the auto-designer uses those race-specific components, even when it shouldn’t.

Case in point: the Swarm Targeting component. The auto-designer uses that component in base and station designs, even if its use only makes sense in fleets.

I’ve just realized that, in my current game as the Wekkarus, the auto-designer has been using the swarm targeting component (stolen from the Gizurean) in its designs for my bases / stations, instead of the more appropriate Target Tracking System v3.

It was used in the monitoring stations (until I’ve created a new design earlier today). And it’s currently used in the automated designs for the research stations and resort bases. Not sure about the spaceports: I’ve started the game a while back, had not touched it for a long time, and had probably started manually designing them quite early in the game.

EDIT: I just noticed that the Swarm Targeting component was also used in some older Defensive Base auto-designs.

Thanks, there are clearly more improvements needed in the auto-designer.
