Maybe a pet-peeve but... Why not the Dutch?

Post by RFalvo69 »

While FCCW provides us with a wealth of content in both scenarios and databases, I am curious about the omission of the Netherlands Army (I NE Corps). Tasked to cover the crucial NORTHAG left flank, the Dutch suffered from the infamous "Maldeployment" - basically the need to mobilize and reach the actual war in time. Given the fact that the Corps was quartered back in their homeland, with only the 41 Armored Brigade deployed forward in Seedorf, the "We will be there in 48 hours!" promise was considered a bit less than "Trust me bro'!"

While the maps don't cover the Hamburg/Lüneburg/Uelzen area, I can imagine some frantic scenarios around Holle/Braunschweig/Minden after something dire happened during the Dutch mobilization. Also, I find it interesting how the database already has the OOBs for both the 3rd Panzer Division (part of the I NL Corps from 1985 onward) and even its 7th PzG Brigade (stationed near Hamburg).

Maybe I like my Dutch because I built a nice scenario with them for Armored Brigade I (well, nice to me at least...) So, I wonder... Are there plans for a patch or possibly an expansion focused on the Hamburg/BALTAPP area and its associated maps and armies? (like the Danish)

We plan to head north in the next installment of the Cold War. So, there is a good chance they will be in that one with others.

Hi Guys
In addition to adding more nations (Dutch & Danes) could be a good paring) it would be good to extend the time period covered by the game backwards, (I think 1980 is your start point now) perhaps a decade at a time to add older formations and kit down the line of would be good to see the 1950's at tome point and be able to use the Davy Crocket system to break up soviet tank attacks.

Or am I just getting greedy ?

Kind regards
Ian

Greedy, a bit. I would like us to do 50s, 60s, 70s stuff as well, but we have finite time and other items to work on. If we get more content, folks who want to chase those eras would speed up the process.

Oh, me too, especially the 70s. I have some ideas...
