Are Paradrops planned ?

Post by Hoplite1963 »

Hi Guys

Looking forward to getting my teeth into this now the weekend is hear. I notice that most if not all nations have tactical transport aircraft. Does this mean that will be possible at some point to load up and drop Paratroopers on objectives deep in the enemy rear. For example to block the arrival of Dutch and other reinforcements for NORTHAG?

Kind regards
Ian

I believe it's on the wishlist - so this topic and any more questions about it will help bump up the priority 8-)

Personally, I'd love to see paradrops too. The British Army had plans on dropping the Paras to protect Hameln and that would be an incredible scenario to play out.

We are halfway to para drops with the new transport mechanics. What we need to work on is the actual overflight of the map by aircraft, rather than the static appearance of a strike aircraft. On our short list for the Modern game, and then it will get ported over to Cold War after that.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Do you mean modern game or WW2 as I guess parchute drops have got even rarer and smaller since 1989.

They could work well in any era. Even today, NATO conducts paratroop exercises:
