Game crashes shortly after startup

My game crashes shortly after starting with the following error message:

sc3: PANIC: Unexpected harmful signal (Segmentation violation) ...

sc3: system execution failed.
Following is the set of recorded exceptions.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but the error persists. How do I fix this?
