Play probably no, but in the past, I would have taken on designing scenarios if they gave the general situation and OOBs.

I was Navy, but Assigned TAD to the 24th MAU Hq in Beirut. By far the finest period of my service!

I would consider it, mainly because I have some real world experience that might be of use in such an endeavor. However, I would have to think long and hard about it, as it would interfere with some other projects I'm doing now.

Must know how to file military-grade reports and answer to the Pentagon or whomever. Must know the equipment, tactics, doctrines, everything military related. Slim chance at a reference for other jobs later on. Work at home.
Military-grade reports? You mean like wordy PowerPoint slides and badly written prose?

I'd like to think my freshman-year English composition professor expects more of me.

No benefits? No. In America you need health insurance through your employer. If you don't get it, it's a no go. You're risking premature death otherwise.

Work at home? Not possible. To do this kind of work you'd need to be in a secured environment.

All in all, it sounds like a scam. I'd tell them to pound sand.
Not to be that guy, but in the US you do *not* need health insurance through your employer. Many states in the US have free health insurance. The state I'm from, for example:

For those that don't qualify for the free state healthcare programs, the ACA provides coverage, at a cost - just like any other healthcare program in any country that has universal coverage. Whether one pays via taxes or via the paycheck, the cost is still there.

For some reason not posted in this forum. Not for playing, but database management.

However perhaps someone is interested.

I can do that. I am recently retired so I am getting to play this game much more. In addition, writing reports for new or revised manufacturing operations is something that is easily transferred to this job.

I would absolutely do this, IF it could be part time. I've had a career and am enjoying retirement. Definitely would not be looking for another full-time gig at this point.

I should also mention that I served as an intelligence officer aboard the USS Pensacola in the early eighties, where one of my responsibilities—and one I truly enjoyed—was designing and facilitating war-game scenarios for junior officers as they worked toward their surface warfare qualifications.

Just curiosity, in the USA, you may get a full time or even part time job if you already retired?

There is an income limit. Above a certain income your tax burden changes and may limit social security payouts. Most private pensions don't have outside income limits.

I have been around software and technology companies a long time. I have lost track of the number of people who went to their "dream job" only to find out that, in the end, its just a job. There is no better way to become disenchanted with your hobby than by making it your job.

btw, my career started out as 15 years as a manufacturing engineer. I then moved into running software development. There are immense differences in writing manufacturing engineering reports and software requirements reports. Other than good writing skills. Though even that seems optional based on the ones I get in both categories.

I totally agree! I actually use CMO as an educational tool. My hobby is ASL. CMO, along with other tools, helps me understand what influences attitudes in potential conflicts.
