Scenario Editor: can I choose the year?

Post by RFalvo69 »

Caveat: I still have to fumble with the scenario editor. However, I see that the various OOBs are labeled 1980-89. Does this mean that I can set a scenario in 1983 with the correct equipment for that year?

Bonus question: Some of the WP OOBs have suffixes like "Ptn" or "OMG". While the obvious interpretation of "Soviet Union OMG"! is quite funny, where can I find an explanation for these suffixes?

Thanks!

The Editor don't pick the forces in the spann appropriate to the selected year, ie 1983, but the units listings have notations of the year they were available historically.

Ptn is Platoon. Its a smaller scale version of the WP side forces.
OMG mean Operational Manoeuvre Group, the Soviet forces tailored for breakthrough exploitation.

Jotte is close to correct . By Forces, he means it will not pick formations for the set time, but the units that can go into he formations are set by the selected date. As a scenario designer, you will need to select the correct formation for the time frame based on the information shown in the scenario editor.
