Private Asset Management: How to?

Post by Don_Kiyote »

This is a general question with a specific problem. This Private Industry I asset keeps disbanding, or 'closing down'. Game version is 1.27b.

See images below...

1. Asset shows red.

2. Asset info pane says 'closing down', no reason given.

3. Zone state is good, population is more than sufficient.

This is the second time the asset has been built and then neglected, and it will probably disappear, again, in about three turns. I would like to know if there is something I as a player can fiddle with in order for the zone to use this asset.

I can't find any reason why the asset isn't being run normally. Population seems sufficient; private food is low but present, and they aren't building an more dome-steads. I thought maybe Corporate Control was an issue, but there seems to be plenty of overhead there (38 vs 62max). I know the corporation generates assets, namely Private Labs and Private Industry, such as this one, but they aren't marked as Corporate. So whatever is happening, I suspect it is caused by corporate decision making.

The IP is sorely needed. The entire regime plan is waiting on every little drip of IP.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The AI thinks there aren't enough staff to work on the farm, when in fact it's due to a lack of logistics points. This was fixed in patch 1.27e.

I did see that post, and your understanding of that similar problem, there. But this is a Light Industry, in the city hex, on a major route, adjacent to the capital. There are (were) no logistic problems to blame here.

Thanks for the guess-work, but I'm unconvinced ;-p

It seems there is a process at work which must be guessed at. Private Assets (in SE) do not just turn off and on according to explicit parameters, like light switch.

Before replying last time, I checked your save file. And that was exactly the problem. Your farm (203,108) was only receiving 46 points instead of 50. With the game patched, here's what appears in the zone log when opening the save file:

and then again after completing the turn:

Problem solved!

You did all that for me? <3

So the problem was that if *any* asset in a zone had productivity problems, even slight ones, then another asset would/could have a 'productivity stop'. But now after the patch (1.27e2 I assume), there is a conditional phrase in the zone log, saying 'productivity problems, but no production stops'.

et voila

But some productivity problems at one asset could still cause stoppages in another, presumably lower priority, asset. Hopefully upkeep continues.

I was barely even aware there was a zone log, tbh.

And I still want to know how corporate control works.
tks

Merry Christmas!

The algorithm prioritizes food, so it will always build/upgrade a new farm if there isn't enough production for the current population. If it saw that a farm was understaffed, it would close assets to fill the gap, but it didn't understand that this was due to a lack of resources. That's what was changed in the patch.
