Bombardment mission but target is not marked

I got a bombardment mission in my current campaign game but the bombardment target was not marked. I subsequently found a bombardment target near where I started. [edit] can confirm that this was the one I was looking for as I got the "mission accomplished" popup when I blew it up. Still, no target icon on the map at any time.
