Losses/Unit Strength

Post by StuccoFresco »

How are Strength losses allocated during combat? Are they always a % of the total unit strength, or are they calculated by number?

I'm mainly asking regarding the TOE files: would (say) a Brigade with 5000 soldiers last more than a Regiment of 3000 soldiers if they suffer the same readiness/strength losses in combat?

It seems to me losses are always stated in % of Readiness and Strength so having more Soldiers/Guns/Tanks in a unit doesn't really matter unless it translates into bigger Attack/Defense numbers. A unit with 10 Attack and 10000 soldiers is just as effective as a unit with 10 Attack and 5000 soldiers.

Hi, it's percentage loss, not number. So I didn't want to go down the The Operational Art of War route where everything is modeled, and where the 10 of the attack is just a guess of the attack of 10 Stugs and 20 squads or whatever.

So an attack of 10 is an attack of 10 regardless.

Cheers,
Brian
