How do you delete setup hexes?

Post by RFalvo69 »

I'm putting the finishing touches to a scenario. It is designed to be played with NATO only, with fixed starting positions.

The problem is that the editor considers all the hexes my units were in before I shuffled them around (for realism and balance purposes) to be "setup hexes" . It also considers "setup hexes" to be those used by NATO reinforcements!

The easiest solution would be to include a house rule in the description asking players not to move their units during the first orders phase. However, I think it's strange that there's no option for the scenario designer to start with units in fixed positions and no other setup.

Any suggestions?

Under the Setup tab there is an option to Paint or Remove setup hexes and also a size setting.

I know, and I used that, but with no avail.

To be clear, here is my procedure:

- I finalise the starting positions of NATO forces (which should be fixed) in the scenario editor. Some of them are reinforcements, so I put them on the map but then I tell the program that these units will enter the map - let's say - 60 mins later. This works as intended.

- I use the Remove Setup Hexes tool under the Setup Tab and I "clean" the map of all the unused setup hexes.

- Units MUST HAVE a setup hex to be placed on the map, even if they are reinforcements. If you delete the setup hexes you can't save the scenario.

- I save the scenario in the editor.

- I launch the scenario to test it, and all the setup hexes I cleared are still there - no matter what I tried.

The same area when I launch the scenario to test it. Note that if I clean the setup hexes the program asks me to "paint" them again.

To turn off the setup zones at scenario start, Multi-unit Overlays - Deployment Areas and click to turn off.
