Allied Midget Subs?

Is it possible to make midget subs work for the Allies? I'd like to create the XE-class the Royal Navy used in 45

On another note, if I make a Japanese class of ships as DEs, will the AI use them correctly, or should I just use the E designation?

The "AI" in AE is scripted. It has a hard time using player designed elements....GP

Rats...after three years of reviewing Andy and others' scripts, I think I'm starting to understand how to create my own—though it still feels like I’ve barely scratched the surface. I've written a number of IJN scripts (like minelaying), but the implementation has definitely been hit-or-miss. With that said, I guess Matsu will have to stay as a DD then.

I'm going to assume that creating CBs for the IJN will cause the same problem. Better to designate them as CAs to serve their actual role as cruiser killers?

Granted, my starting point for this mod is AndyMac's scen 21 tier 3 nasty from like 2019, so worrying about that level of detail is probably overthinking it

I wouldn't add anything to the IJ side in this scenario, but I would play the allied side with "no withdrawals" turned on.

I can tell you you can create all ship types for allies and Japan - not sure about the AI. In my mod, the MATSU can change from DD to DE. It's mainly there so players can easily identify the roll, and a DE is a bit more substantial than an E?

Can you give me the proposed stats for the Allied mini-sub and how it's carried? Are you giving an allied sub the capacity to do that ?? Interesting. Could I add this to my mod, as I'm just about to publish, it could be of interest for 1945? If you like, please let me know.

I never got a reply to my question on a similar subject, and that is, how does the game build Mini subs? They are not in the ship build lists, but I think if we wanted to create them, they could be?
