GUI Request

Post by Magpius »

Would it be possible to place the information panels on the left side of the screen under the menu bars, rather than currently right justified?
On wide screen monitors, having all the fine print text grouped closer together would make content easier to scan/ read.
(currently it feels like I'm at a tennis match :) )
Thanks for the consideration, and the continued polishing of the game.

and a merry christmas and new year's to all still playing EiA.

Well, yes and no. Sure, most anything is possible. Back in v1.24.00, I wrestled with scaling the UI up about 40-50% as it was tiny on a modern wide-screen size; this was resolved with the top menu bar scaled up 50% - large enough to be an improvement but not so large to not fit on regular screen size. This was not a trivial exercise, as everything down to the pixel height, width, and position of every image and button and text box had to be manually adjusted. I do not really want to go through that again.

On the other hand, are you asking about the pop-up nation status boxes? I could probably reset those to be left-justified rather than right-justified. That could be doable without adversely affecting my mental health moreso than this game code already does. (Haha) I just want to understand better what you are asking for. Thanks for asking!

UPDATE. I took a quick look at this. I cannot simply shift those panel boxes left with also shifting every item in them. And I cannot drag&drop the panel boxes within the CodeGear IDE without interfering with what's already on the left. Maybe I'm missing something and perhaps I can figure out how to drag&drop an entire panel box without losing something. Maybe. I'll keep investigating some more. But no way am I going to try manually adjusting everything again. Nope.

But yeah, if it's way too much then that's okay.
It's a minor quibble.

I understand. I've looked at this a couple more times and tried a couple of different approaches but cannot get those panels to move. It should be doable. It's annoying me that nothing is working. I'll poke at it some more and if I get it to work then I'll lock in some changes. If not, oh well.

Would be cool, but I think we're in agreeance, it's not really a priority.
Cheers.
