New look 3D for heavy forest : I implemented on "heavy forest" graph the forest graphs of the old and venerable "Age of Rifles"
Simple forest is just the vanilla forest of SC ACW

The integral panel of buildings graphs, with some adjustements.

90% of the graphs will have now a "3D" look

Victory conditions of the mod : these conditions are automatically managed and applied by the program, like in vanilla game

There are 3 cases : Decisive victory, marginal victory and draw

Using Army Moral, that is National Moral I renamed, I can set losses of moral depending of "battlefield conquest".

At this time, 3 factors have influence for victory (without any script) :
1/ Losses of each side (lost units)
2/ Occupied surface of battlefield (an army that does retreat does suffer losses in Army moral)
3/ Some "essential" hex (facultative : depending of battle context) : their specific conquest by a side will cause losses in Army Moral for opponent

Victory settings in capture screen may be changed, depending of tests I am doing

Research increments and upgrades have been now completely modified to allow maximum customization of unit parameters in each battle : each battle will have, if needed, his own upgrades configuration ; and in each battle, each unit will have, if needed, individual "habilities" (example : Companions of Alexander, or Elite legions of Cesar, etc)

In few secunds, I will be ale to change all upgrades configurations in editor when working to build a specific battle that needs some individual habilities for particular units (or to give any advantage to a side - or to particular units of a side - in some aspects : moral, training, elite level, command level, etc)

Happy new year !

Now, 16 kinds of units in supplement of 28 kinds already implemented : 44 kinds of ancient units are implemented in the mod

Phalanx have the same look than heavy infantry but with more longer spears/pikes
Cataphract cavalry looks like heavy cavalry but with swords for the rear row (in place of spears)

Scythed war chariots are "sacrifiables" : High power of attack (except vs elefants) to disorganize ennemy formations (=10), but very low defense power (=0)

Mod is released (download link will come soon in page 1 of this thread)

Edit : The link will be a little late because I found a way to have 57 types of units on the map instead of the basic 28 types ; and what's more, some features of the editor that I had overlooked and I have just discovered offer some very interesting possibilities that I want to use. The editor of the game is really a pur gold gemm, a very powerfull tool

Hubert is excellent !

I am working on the oob of Raphia - 217 BC (it will be the first historical battle), and it's a real difficulty to synthetize all different "historical" sources (lot of discords about the detailled oob), but the large number of units type in the mod makes the work more easy (what is really usefull is that Hubert created the editor in a perfect way for these oob questions : for each battle scenario, you may full change/adapt parameters of units, it's a great function that does allow user to change all things for a unic battle to better adapt the mod to the historical context of each specific/particular battle).

Hubert shouldn't overindulge in whiskey and champagne... I was working on my Ancient Battle mod and I suddenly discovered strange units from August 1914 in my OOB... I don't know where they came from. A bug ?

They should do well, providing they don't run out of ammo!

That's exactly what I plane (probably next year), in 2 mods : ;)

1/ A serie of little tactical scenarios for fightings of August - Sept1914 = just these 2 months (the last "classic" battles before birth of "modern war") : on little maps (125x125 or 150x150), just at battalion or company level (without pb of supply : units will be on invisible rails/roads/Major cities like my actual "ancient battle" mod, no any lack of supply). It will work a little bit like the old "steel panthers", and it will use fog of war.

2/ A August-Sept 1914 campaign using 1940 France map adapted for 1914 time, at regimental level (approx 200/250 units per side), with same system : no any lack of supply. I will use SC3 War in Europe and not SC3 WW1 because SC3 WIE system is more adapted for movement war, SC3 WW1 is more for static fronts (End 1814 to 1918).

In August-Sept 1914 (just these 2 months), pb of supply was not so important than later and to suppress pb of supply does give to AI of Hubert lot of energy/efficiency (I noticed that in my actual ancient battle mod, AI makes a real good opponent when it has no any problem of supply, and I will try to obtain a very agressive/powerfull german opponent AI.

Actually : one unic generic (not historical) battle may be played, that does use all units of the mod

Depending critics/observations of eventual users, I will modify/adjust some parameters
