Axis unit build & unit rebuild option

Post by Von Weber »

Just wanted to check how axis unit build option works. But on the first turn of campaign in the ground phase Axis build unit window is still empty. Is it not working at the first turn?
How does Axis Build unit function operates? The same way as for the Soviets? You've got a list of units, you'd like to build combat and support and if you have in pool sufficient numbers of manpower, eqiupment you pay AP points and you got it.
Or is it only fo modding of OOB ?
The second question is about toggle item in the editor main screen: No unit rebuild.
What does it mean? Is it for modding of OOB too in the standard campaign or scenario?

You have to mod a Scenario.
You have to define which TOEs are buildable, which TOEs are "chained together", how many you can max have (have = already existing + built ones ...so a max. limit) and define periods (if you want to define time periods) and obv. at what cost in those periods.

Afaik, you generally enable it with the option "Allow Axis Unit Build".
The option you asked about in your second question I think is related to the option each existing/set up unit by itself has, which you can see in the Editor under UNITS Tab and then down at the bottom "Restrict Rebuild:"...correct if wrong.

Walked through the links from your post and through the editor made me to some questions about units and their nationality:
1.Ost mountain regiment -nationality AG, axis generic, not german or someone from Axis minor allies, but AG :?: What is it about? Axis generic , does it mean composite volunteer formation?
2.SFK, marked as german, but does it mean Swedish volunteer corps (SFK), winter war 1940 or Sudetendeutsches Freikorps?
3.RSK, is it Russischer Schutz Korps?
4.Rebuild unit in unit tab(in editor). Clicking on it nothing happens although it is highlighted not dimmed. What is it :?: for?

Axis Generic formations draw from the Hiwi Manpower Pool.....it's used for the formations recruited within Russia, like the Cossacks

are you referring to TOE(OB) 2032 and 2033? i believe you're correct with RSK, but SFK looks to stand for Serbisches Freiwilligenkorps. from what i can tell, both TOEs are only used in the Drama on the Danube scenario.

for that you need to set the Exp, Size and Rdy parameters (and optionally Var). once you do it should fill out the unit's ready and damaged elements according to your specs.

Thanks for ryour replies guys . I started thinking that this thread was abandoned and nobody answers me here and was going to start another one :)
Thanks to you, things are getting clear to me.
I really wondered to know that some Serbians fought for Axis too.Searching what is SFK I had too much doubts that it was Serbian voulunteeers formation, less likely, but now I see I was wrong.
