Questions

War in Spain 1936-39 is the first in a new wargame series, using a new Land-Sea-Air engine inspired by War in the Pacific - Admiral’s Edition. Gameplay and realism are improved by TRUE AI and a detailed Logistics systems. A hyper detailed OOB reaches down to battalion and company level. A beautiful, hand drawn, 5 nautical mile per hex map massively increases player immersion.

Questions

Post by JWW »

Just bought the game. A couple of questions.

1. The game allows you to vary the turn length when playing the AI. What is the best turn length to use, or does it vary according to the game situation?

2. What are the options for giving the AI control of some of the game functions. I'm used to playing complex games, and I can see for this game automating some functions at least part of the time would be beneficial. And I saw some options for that in skimming the manual.

3. And a comment. I agree with some other posters about more variety in the size of the some of the boxes. I'm thinking of the Campaign Series games where you can really vary the size of the tool bar and header buttons and such.

No, I haven't read through the manual yet and haven't started watching the tutorial video. I'm looking forward to learning the game and just trying to get a general idea of things before I get started. Thanks for any responses.

1) The best is one day turns, although you can do 1 hour turns but certain things only happen at certain hours.

2) I don't use them but there is not much industry in the game, there is only oil to refine into fuel, coal that is mined for use, and light industry to produce supplies. In this game, there is no industry producing vehicles, aircraft, ships, no expansion of shipyards, and so on. You can convert civilian ports into military ports for better resupply of your warships.

3) I just use a laptop and not a larger screen so that is not an issue for me.

I hope that these answers help.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o
