warspite1 wrote: Sat Jan 24, 2026 10:36 am Hi Atheory - thanks for the AAR.

If you get a chance, can you explain what is happening on the naval side in some detail. For example, are the ships (and their sides) set at the outset or is there a random element that can see ships change side? How, if at all, are crew mutinies dealt with?

I look forward to reading more.
Just to add on to what RangerJoe said, as far as I know ships can only be captured if in port when a base flips control.

Oil ships are green and coal ships are gray...

(and sailboats are also green)

What? I think you may have misunderstood what I was saying. I said nothing about modifications so I'm lost.

I was just saying that I've never really experienced supply shortages so creating convoys has never been seen as a priority for me.
Fuel, you will need fuel.

Supplies, in order to build up your forces, you need the supplies. Shipments of supplies from Germany, Italy, and/or the USSR represent not just the supplies but the devices as well.

I look forward to see how the logistics plays out.

You can haul excess resources from Spain to Germany to make more supplies! You can also do that for Italy but in my last campaign game, the Republican air and navy was active in that theater and I didn't want to lose ships.

As Nationalists, you can get oil converted to fuel in Africa. Africa will also be a source of supplies. But be careful since you won't have many ASW vessels early and submarines can travel through the straits of Gibraltar quite easily. Those CD guns get deadly to cargo ships and even damage combat vessels, even sinking some of those as well. So the Republicans have difficulties moving ships through the straits while the submarines can be troublesome if you let them.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o

Yes, indeed republican air is quite relentless in attacking shipping throughout the med. I may be inclined to taking the long way around. Maybe do a relay through spanish guinea or canaries.

Curious if anyone knows if there is a way to prevent this pop-up when you hover over a unit icon?

Naval action -

Coastal batteries fire on the BB Jamie I, confirming the presence of the ship in the strait. The BB has received two hits from coastal batteries.

PG Dato valiantly protects the transport convoy funneling troops from North Africa to spain, engaging the republican destroyer Lazaga.

For those, like me, that don't really enjoy this side bar, simply hit that minimize button and forget about it. You can still issue orders directly through the unit screens and if you're already familiar with WITP then you'll feel right at home already.
