Windows ARM woes

Post by Delaware »

I bought this knowing it was hit or miss if I can get it running under Windows ARM Surface Laptop running a Snapdragon processor and the Qualcomm Ardreno GPU. I can get WITP:AE running on here with switches but I cannot get War Plan Orange to run without pink highlights.

For this game it booted up normally enough but after I clicked start game I got Nothing but green map with pink highlights. So I used the windll wrapper and got the game to boot but the windows render slowly and become unresponsive after 30 seconds.

So I'm not sure if its a lost cause on this laptop. I DID install it on my old Surface 1 laptop with X86 architecture and a Intel integrated GPU and it runs fine after the windll rapper.

Anything else I can try on here or it's just that this architecture is not compatible with the game. I am aware that by and large Matrix doesn't support ARM but I was hoping maybe someone could assist.

See the game launcher. We have a launch fix for this issue.
Using a DDraw.DLL wrapper for it.

Background: Some Intel onboard cards do malfunction. They tell the game everything was shown Ok, when actually it did draw transparent pixels.

You can try the included wrapper.

The expert solution is to disable the Intel onboard card in device manager in case you have a 2nd graphics card installed.

Both solutions might also fix your War plan orange.
The only responsible person. (Unless I can frame someone else)
